Psychology doctoral candidates win prestigious awards

International awards go to Grad students Leung and Tahseen

Christy Leung, a recent graduate of UMBC's Applied Development
Psychology program, won the Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award
for her dissertation "The Immigrant Experiences, Acculturation, and
Parenting of Chinese Immigrant Mothers" from the Society for Research in
Child Development Asian Caucus.

Doctoral candidate, Madiha Tahseen, was awarded the Society for Research in Child Development SECC Dissertation Research Funding Award to support her dissertation research, "A multidimensional examination of collective identity among Muslim-American adolescents".
