The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Department of Psychology anticipates hiring a 9-month, full-time Lecturer to participate in the UMBC Psychology program at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville, MD beginning August 23, 2014. The department seeks a person holding a doctoral degree in psychology who has a record of successful teaching at the undergraduate level. Area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in clinical, counseling, community, social, health, or related areas of applied psychology. Responsibilities include undergraduate course instruction, academic advising, and service on departmental or university committees. The successful applicant will play an important role in ongoing efforts to enhance undergraduate writing in the discipline, and will join a vibrant department with growing strengths in the use of innovative teaching methods, educational technology, and the infusion of human diversity into the psychology curriculum.
