The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree

The curriculum for the B.A. in Psychology is designed for students with an interest in human behavior, social and community services, personality theories, developmental issues, and a wide variety of other focus areas. Students have room to tailor their degree to match their postgraduate plans. For example, the B.A. curriculum combined with additional courses in research methods, hands-on research experience, and writing intensive courses provides solid preparation for graduate studies in psychology. Others may choose to complete a specialty, which provides depth and breadth of knowledge in a particular area of Psychology and is designed to prepare students interested in bachelor-level careers with skills that can enhance their occupational opportunities or to provide training for advanced studies in these and allied areas.

PSYC BA Checklist- Last Updated 4/15/2025  (Note: Effective Fall 2025, students under the new catalog will see Statistics as a graduation requirement in their degree audit. This change is intended to provide additional clarity as the completion of a Statistics course has always been a prerequisite for PSYC 311, a required course for all Psychology majors.)
