I am a graduate student in the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) masters program at UMBC. The program is a close knit network of fellow students, professors, and supervisors who help you grow academically, professionally, and personally. As a student in the program, I have had the opportunity to attend and present my work at conferences in cities across the country and meet notable experts in the field of ABA.Additionally, I work as a clinical specialist in the Pediatric Feeding Disorders Program at Kennedy Krieger Institute. I assist in the development and implementation of individual assessment and treatment plans to increase oral acceptance of foods of children who engage in food refusal. This position has allowed me the opportunity to apply the knowledge obtained in the classroom to daily sessions with the children I see in the clinic. Furthermore, I frequently meet with case supervisors who provide direct supervision and allow me to fulfill the requirements to sit for the certification exam for my field upon graduation. The combination of classwork and field experience makes me confident that I will have all the tools to become a successful behavior analyst.
